In terms of appearance

BYD named the exterior design of Song L “Pioneer Dragon Face”. The family DNA style has evolved to be more radical. The multi-layered X-shaped front face is full of sharpness. The “dragon whisker”-like chrome strips are directly connected from the headlights on both sides to the center grille, creating a visual effect with a classical Chinese style. The trapezoidal air intake decoration at the bottom enhances the sporty atmosphere of the front face. The triangular air intake decorations on both sides of the bumper are added with two chrome wind blade trims, which further converge the center of the front face of the vehicle to the LOGO, which is very domineering.

The Song L headlights are shaped in the style of the BYD Han, with a significantly narrower and longer volume. The wing-shaped through-type light strip with chrome decoration is embedded in the upper part of the headlights. In terms of light source, it uses matrix LED headlights for better lighting effects.

 

Song L is equipped with frameless doors and hidden door handles. The side of the body is outlined by multiple powerful “dragon” waistlines, the window shape is relatively flat, the ground clearance is small, and the visual effect of the body has a low-lying feeling that is rare in mid-sized SUVs. In terms of size, the overall size of Song L is 4840/1950/1560mm, with a wheelbase of 2930mm, it is the largest in the current Song family.

 

The roof line smoothly transitions from the A-pillar to the rear and ends at the sloping C-pillar, presenting a strong hunting SUV style. The sloping roof line makes the rear part look very compact and dynamic. The rear of the BYD Song L is very sharp, with many three-dimensional surfaces. The top tail wing and the adaptive tail wing that can be raised and lowered at the end bring a strong sense of “running”. The triangular air guide decoration and the bottom diffuser decoration continue to enhance the sporty atmosphere of the rear of the car. The taillights of the BYD Song L adopt the family-style “streaming knot” design of the through-type taillights, which are also highly recognizable when lit.

Interior

 

The entire center console of BYD Song L is a symmetrical double-layer floating T-shaped design, with vertically arranged air-conditioning outlets embedded inside. The ring-shaped strip-shaped ambient light of the full-color rhythmic streamer ambient light runs across the entire center console. The adaptive floating PAD continues to be the visual center of the entire center console, and the new generation of BYD Heart electronic gear lever also uses crystal cutting technology. In terms of materials, soft plastics, decorative strips and soft leather cover the entire center console, and the cockpit supports three interior themes: “Wild Starry Sky”, “Danxia Morning Light” and “White Beach”.

Intelligent configuration

 

BYD Song L is equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel screen, a 50-inch AR-HUD head-up display with a proportional projection area, and a 15.6-inch adaptive floating PAD with a high screen-to-body ratio. The cockpit is equipped with a high-computing customized DiLink intelligent network system, based on Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, and jointly customized with Qualcomm to support 5G vehicle cockpit platform. The system supports more advanced functions such as continuous voice recognition and OTA online upgrades.

 

Assisted driving

 

BYD Song L is equipped with BYD DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system, which has more than 30 auxiliary functions, such as high-speed assistance, intelligent navigation, automatic parking, fatigue monitoring reminder, etc. In addition, the new car’s four doors are all electronically controlled inside and outside, and are also equipped with NFC digital keys, Bluetooth keys, and UWB digital keys.

 

BYD Song L adopts an integrated ergonomic seat, which is sporty in shape but comfortable to ride. In terms of functions, the front seats are adjustable at multiple angles, with massage, leg rest, ventilation, heating and other functions. The rear seats are equipped with independent headrests, central air-conditioning outlets, and charging ports for mobile devices. The 12-speaker HiFi-level customized Dynaudio speakers, active fragrance system, and scene mode can also bring users an immersive cockpit experience.

 

Power

The new car offers single-motor and dual-motor versions. The four-wheel drive version is equipped with front and rear motors with maximum power of 150/230kW respectively; the single-motor version has a maximum power of 230kW. In terms of battery life, its CLTC pure electric range is 550km, 602km, and 662km.

Chassis

The new car has a front McPherson independent suspension + rear multi-link independent suspension system, and is equipped with the Yunnian-C intelligent damping body control system, with a damping adjustment speed of milliseconds.
